The SOLAS Concord Impeller Yam YX-CD-12/17 is designed with SOLAS impeller technology to support performance tuning through pitch selection. SOLAS manufactures its impellers from ultra-high-strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel and casts them in a one-piece mold. This construction avoids bending the blade edges and is intended to maintain the designed pitch.
Pitch selection affects acceleration and top speed. A smaller pitch can improve acceleration while reducing top speed, whereas increasing pitch can reduce acceleration and increase top speed. A higher-than-stock pitch may be used for watercraft with more horsepower than stock, while a lower-than-stock pitch may be suitable for certain applications where additional rpm or available horsepower considerations apply.
SOLAS recommendations for limited and modified applications can be used according to the desired rpm and speed. Reduced pitch may also be considered for high-altitude or high-temperature conditions where horsepower is lost, or when carrying additional weight and limiting the volume of water through the pump is desired. Review application requirements and desired operating characteristics when selecting the appropriate pitch.
Features:
- Construction: Made from ultra-high-strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
- Manufacturing: Cast in a one-piece mold without bending the blade edges.
- Pitch adjustment: Smaller pitches can improve acceleration and reduce top speed.
- Pitch adjustment: Increasing pitch can decrease acceleration and increase top speed.
- Performance application: Higher-than-stock pitch can be used for watercraft with more horsepower than stock.
- Application guidance: Limited and modified impeller recommendations can be used according to desired rpm and speed.
- Operating conditions: Lower-than-stock pitch can be used for applicable watercraft with a re-flashed ECU that increases the rev limiter.
- Operating conditions: Lower-than-stock pitch can be used for applicable high-altitude or high-temperature applications where horsepower is lost.
- Load management: Reduced pitch can be used for higher carried weight to limit the volume of water through the pump.
