The SOLAS Concord YJ-CD-12/17 Impeller is designed with SOLAS engineering focused on impeller performance. It is made from ultra-high-strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel and cast in a one-piece mold. This construction avoids bending the blade edges and supports consistent pitch throughout the impeller design.
The 12/17 pitch configuration reflects the relationship between acceleration and top speed. Smaller pitches generally improve acceleration while reducing top speed, whereas increasing pitch can reduce acceleration and increase top speed. A higher-than-stock pitch may be used for watercraft with more horsepower than stock, while limited and modified impeller recommendations can be used in either application based on desired RPM and speed.
SOLAS notes that a lower-than-stock pitch may be suitable for watercraft with a re-flashed ECU that increases the rev limiter for additional RPM, when applicable. Lower pitch options may also be used for high-altitude or high-temperature applications where horsepower is reduced, or when carrying greater weight to limit the volume of water through the pump. Select the pitch based on the watercraft setup and desired operating characteristics.
