The SOLAS YS-CD-14/16 impeller is designed by SOLAS, a technology leader in impeller design. It is made from ultra-high-strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel and cast in a one-piece mold. This manufacturing process avoids bending the blade edges and supports precise pitch formation.
The 14/16 pitch configuration provides options for balancing acceleration and top speed according to application requirements. Smaller pitches improve acceleration while reducing top speed, whereas increased pitch can reduce acceleration and increase top speed. A higher-than-stock pitch may be used for watercraft with more horsepower than stock.
SOLAS limited and modified impeller recommendations can be used in either application depending on the desired RPM and speed. A lower-than-stock pitch may be suitable for watercraft with a re-flashed ECU that increases the rev limiter, as well as high-altitude or high-temperature applications where horsepower is lost, when applicable. Reduced pitch can also accommodate higher carried weight by limiting the volume of water through the pump.
