The MAMMUT Barryvox S2 avalanche transceiver is designed to support searches for buried subjects in avalanche-prone terrain. With intuitive operation and a 70-meter range, it provides clear audible, voice, and visual guidance during complex rescue scenarios. Its animated, easy-to-read display guides users through search phases, while intelligent fine search guidance supports precise searching through the final meters.
The MAMMUT Barryvox S2 features a high-contrast MIP display for readability in harsh sunlight, along with analog search technology that supports efficient signal processing in demanding situations. Probe indication provides visual and acoustic guidance when transitioning from fine search to pinpointing. The device also offers multiple-burial support, including strongest-signal selection, subject marking and unmarking, deep burial mode, and automatic guidance during signal failures or overlaps.
For additional rescue support, the MAMMUT Barryvox S2 includes Rescue-SEND, which automatically switches the device to SEND mode in the event of a secondary avalanche. Auto-revert to SEND switches from search to send when no movement is detected for four minutes. Startup self-tests, ongoing send and battery checks, group check functionality, interference management, and reverse-direction protection help support device operation. The transceiver is compatible with the Mammut app for firmware updates, configuration settings, Barryvox search training, an extended user manual, and a knowledge base.
