The SOLAS Impeller Concord Honda 17/29 is designed with SOLAS’s impeller technology and is manufactured from ultra-high-strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The impeller is cast in a one-piece mold, without bending the blade edges, to help achieve precise pitch.
Pitch selection affects watercraft acceleration and top speed. A smaller pitch can improve acceleration while reducing top speed, whereas increasing pitch can reduce acceleration and increase top speed. A higher-than-stock pitch may be used for watercraft with more horsepower than stock, while a lower-than-stock pitch may be appropriate for certain applications where additional engine speed or lost horsepower affects performance.
SOLAS states that lower-pitch applications may include watercraft with a re-flashed ECU that increases the rev limiter, high-altitude or high-temperature conditions where horsepower is reduced, or situations involving increased carrying weight where reduced pitch helps limit the volume of water through the pump. Limited and Modified impeller recommendations may be used in either application depending on the desired RPM and speed.
