The SOLAS SXX-CD-13/18 Impeller is manufactured by SOLAS, a technology leader in impeller design. It is made from ultra-high-strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel and cast in a one-piece mold. This construction avoids bending the blade edges and is designed to achieve a precise pitch.
Impeller pitch affects acceleration and top speed. A smaller pitch can improve acceleration while reducing top speed, whereas increasing pitch can reduce acceleration and increase top speed. A higher-than-stock pitch may be used for watercraft with more horsepower than stock.
SOLAS limited and modified impeller recommendations can be used in either application depending on the desired RPM and speed. A lower-than-stock pitch may be suitable for watercraft with a reflashed ECU that increases the rev limiter for higher RPM, where applicable. It may also be used in high-altitude or high-temperature applications where horsepower is reduced, or with higher carried weight to limit the volume of water through the pump.
Features:
- Construction: Made from ultra-high-strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
- Manufacturing: Cast in a one-piece mold without bending the blade edges.
- Pitch: 13/18 pitch configuration.
- Acceleration: Smaller pitches improve acceleration and reduce top speed.
- Top Speed: Increasing pitch decreases acceleration and increases top speed.
- Application Guidance: Higher-than-stock pitch can be used for watercraft with more horsepower than stock.
- Operating Conditions: Lower-than-stock pitch may be used for applicable high-altitude or high-temperature applications where horsepower is lost.
- Load Management: Reduced pitch can be used for higher carried weight to limit water volume through the pump.
